Wenger's reaction to the Arsenal 4-1 Bolton Wanderers match

On the 4-1 victory...
"Overall it was a competitive game where we dominated and created many chances but it is the kind of game, when you play Bolton, that for as long as you don't kill the game off they can score. You can dominate 80 per cent of the game and still lose against Bolton because one or two balls, throw-ins, set pieces, can be dangerous and they are a good side in midfield as well. They marked us very tight and I think that provoked a very physical game but they played well as well."

On Bolton's style...
"He [Owen Coyle] uses the strong points of his team. Davies and Elmander are good in the air. I still believe they have a good mixture between playing on the ground and they kept their strong points. It was a good test for our centre backs today and they did very well. Overall I am pleased with the performance of the whole team."

On if Bolton could have had more than one player sent off...
"There could have been others. It is difficult to judge but you will have to see it again. I believe it was a bad tackle on Diaby, he is not in a good shape. They had full commitment but we needed to be patient, get our technique and passing to prevail and I was confident that it would. It was important not to make a second mistake."

On Diaby's injury...
"It is ankle or shin - he cannot move his leg at the moment so we will see."

On games Arsenal have struggled to win in the past...
"We had two games; Blackburn and today that we wouldn't have taken six points from two years ago."

On Laurent Koscielny and Sebastien Squillaci...
"Well don't think they will have 18 or 19 home games like that! It was a good test for them and what I like is, for example, when Koscielny was knocked down he came back and still won every header after that. For somebody coming from the French league that is a good sign."

On Cesc Fabregas showing his commitment with an impressive performance...
"I have seen a few good performances from him and it is difficult to compare them. I don't deny that there was a Barcelona story but I was always convinced he really loves Arsenal and he loves to play football. We play the game he loves to play and the game turns around him. He grew up in this team and to make this team win will be a bigger achievement than anything else for Fabregas."

On Kieran Gibbs' starting role...
"It was not in preference because Clichy played very well but we go into two months where we play every three days so I rotate sometimes one or two players. I want Gibbs to get back to full fitness. It was his first full game."

On Jack Wilshere's performance...
"He has every chance of playing this season. He is 18 years old and I consider him a player of the first-team squad. When he is on the pitch he is completely in the game. I rested Diaby, Clichy and Sagna today, Denilson didn't player, Nasri didn't play."
