Wenger's reaction to the Tottenham Hotspur 3-3 Arsenal match

on whether the result feels like a defeat…
It’s disappointing because we had the lead and we were caught from being 3-1 ahead. The attitude was fantastic and we played the game we wanted to play. I feel we dropped physically in the second half, you could see that the Liverpool game had a bearing. Of course it was an exciting game where both teams could have won. It’s frustrating that we conceded three goals because, especially in the first half, we controlled the game. I don’t think 3-2 reflected the first half, they didn’t create a lot in the first half.

on where the result leaves the Premier League title race…
Completely open. We have to get ready for the next game and fight as we do. This team has a remarkable attitude. Even if, at the moment, we are not rewarded by the number of points [we are getting]. We are remarkably consistent because it was a difficult game tonight, with an average performance we would not have come away with a point. We are on a 16-game unbeaten run but recently we haven’t got enough points because of too many draws. That’s what we want to turn around until the end of the season.

on an open game…
Tottenham are a good team, they are good going forward and they can create chances. Physically, we dropped in the second half and that explains why we conceded.

on not closing the game out…
It’s a derby and you have to accept that even when you are 3-1 up the game is not won. It is not all negative because, after what happened to us on Sunday, to recover and come back with such a spirit, I personally believe that this team has an outstanding personality. Not many teams would have survived what has happened to us recently. For me, the team does not get enough credit. Any team who had been hammered like we have been for two months, I’m not sure everyone would have turned up with such an attitude. I give my team a lot of credit.

on missing a chance to put pressure on Manchester United…
It’s open. Chelsea are now back in the race and they play Manchester United and Tottenham. It’s open and it is down to us to keep our faith and keep battling. We will not always draw when we score three goals. It was a special game tonight where, in the second half, we suffered physically.

on Szczesny’s part in the Tottenham penalty…
He was a bit late but I will have to see it again.

on whether Cesc Fabregas’ pre-match comments bother him…
It bothers me and I will tell you why. Because this was an article organised by the Club with a check view after the article. Not only did the reporter not respect the agreement but also he twisted completely the article. We are really upset about it. It is disappointing and unprofessional from the journalist. The whole article is the opposite of what the player said. We give not as much importance to the media as you think. Our job is to talk a little and do a lot and your job is to talk a lot. We accept that people talk about us but we have to be strong enough to deal with that.
